In the Student Outreach committee, we are in charge development of social events that encourage overall Black unity. Some events that members will plan include parties, dance-a-ton. Members will selp come up with theme for formal. They will also be responsible for the decoration and music. Last year’s theme was "An Achievement Ball" and BSL honored Penn students and high-schoolers from the community for academic and community excellence. Memebers of this committee will work with Fundraising Committee to come up with funding opportunities and with the Publicity Committee to make sure that the Formal is heavily advertised. The purpose of this committee is to reach out to the surrounding community, inform BSL of opportunities to get involved and plan community service events. Future Plans Include: College Access Mentoring Program, Community Service Outings to Ronald McDonald House, Jane Addams House, CSSP. Members are encouraged to implement their own ideas of events.
