The University of Pennsylvania Parliamentary Debate Society is the premier debate association on campus. We compete in the American Parliamentary Debate Association (APDA), which is the main intercollegiate debate organization in the United States. At competitions, we face teams from the best colleges across the country – from Harvard to Stanford, Georgetown to Berkeley, and countless others in between. While most tournaments we attend are in American Parliamentary style, we also send teams to British Parliamentary style tournaments and Worlds style tournaments. One of the biggest tournaments we field teams to is the World University Debate Championships (WUDC), and our teams have done exceptionally well in the past. In addition to attending tournaments at other universities, we also host two debate tournaments at Penn every year: one in the fall, and one in the spring. Penn Parliamentary Debate is not only a top-flight debate society and a diverse group of scholars. More importantly, we are a family.
