The University of Pennsylvania Parliamentary Debate Society is the premier debate association on campus. We compete in the American Parliamentary Debate Association (APDA), which is the main intercollegiate debate organization in the United States. At competitions, we face teams from Harvard, GW, Stanford, Rutgers, Swarthmore, UChicago, and other colleges across the country. Debate topics range from economics and military strategy to questions of morality in popular movies. While most tournaments we attend are in American Parliamentary style, we also send teams to British Parliamentary style tournaments and Worlds style tournaments. One of the biggest tournaments we attend is the World University Debate Championships (WUDC), and our teams have done exceptionally well in the past. Penn Parliamentary Debate is a top-flight debate society and a diverse group of scholars, but more importantly, we are a family.
