Playwriting Fellowship
Plays are not meant to be read, but heard and seen.
To truly develop new work, a playwright must have the opportunity to interact with the play’s production. The winner of the playwriting fellowship sponsored by Front Row Theatre Company, Kelly Writers House, and the Creative Writing Department will receive a week long workshop. This includes a director, cast, and staff to develop the play and prepare a capstone staged reading. Almost every professionally produced play is workshopped at least once; it is a vital step in theatre production.
The Playwriting Fellowship was featured in the May/June 2005 issue of The Pennsylvania Gazette -- read the article!
