Speed The Plow
By David Mamet
Directed by Jon Cinque
Speed-the-Plow is David Mamet's cynical commentary on the age-old debate between art and money in the entertainment business. It follows mid-level movie producers,Gould and Fox, who must decide between presenting a shallow, action-packed potential blockbuster or an adaptation of a spiritual, apocalyptic novel to their unseen boss. Throw in the attractive office temp, Karen, and Mamet's witty dialogue for a hilarious, albeit harsh presentation of the workings of show business. Mamet tackles such issues as the role of women in the work world and, most importantly, art as a commodity in today's society.
Auditions and techincal interviews for Speed the Plow have concluded. We hope you will join us for the performances, February 11, 12, and 13 at 8pm in the rooftop lounge of Harrison College House.

Jon Cinque
Jon Cinque is a senior majoring in Physics (also minoring in Theatre Arts, so don't worry about his credentials) who is eager to direct for Front Row Theatre. He has been involved in theatre since his elementary school days when stern French women would force him to recite poetry in front of his judgmental peers. His creative credits include acting in various productions for TAC-e and the Underground Shakespeare Company, and his technical credits range from sound design to moving large objects during load-ins. Currently serving as the chair of TAC-e, he knows his time at Penn is drawing to a close and relishes the opportunity to dedicate himself to this production.
