News and Notes:

  • PENN looks to better their MACHA record this weekend against established rivals Monmouth University and Rider University.  Monmouth and Rider have met in the MACHA championship playoff finals for the past two seasons.  The Quakers split with both teams last year and are looking to avenge those losses!!

  • In this week's issue~

  • The Coach's Corner!!

Welcome Penn fans to another edition of the PENNalty Box.  Now some of you may be wondering, "if this team is as good as this Remick kid says, why is their record only 1-2?"  If that's you, it's a valid question.  But I have this to reply.  First off, the record that ultimately matters, our league record is a phenomenal 1-0.  It was a solid victory over the Millersville Marauders, where Penn showed its fans the capabilities that it has.  They outshot Millersville 63-25 and could have scored even more goals, had 5 separate posts not gotten in the way!  Now what about those two loses?  Let me first point out that those were losses to a Division I team in our first game of the season and an NCAA Division III Varsity team.  Both teams were top-caliber team and to Penn's credit, they competed with them down to the final whistle.

But enough about the past.  Let's look to the future.  This weekend, Penn will host last year's MACHA finalist Monmouth.  This MACHA powerhouse has no idea what's in store for it when they enter the Class of '23 rink on Friday afternoon, the site where they lost to Penn last year in one of the most exciting games of the year.  Then on Saturday, Penn will travel up to Lawrenceville to play the Rider Broncos, last year's MACHA champs.  However, they have already been proven vulnerable, as they lost to Montclair State last week.  Both games will be fast-paced, hard-hitting and excellent chances for the Quakers to prove to all their critics that they are indeed one of the top teams to be reckoned with this season.

See you all at the rink!!!!

    Favorite Thing About Penn Hockey:

Hmm tough one.... i guess it is the chance to go to frat parties with the young kids.  No seriously I like playing hockey- I am glad that i can play serious competitive hockey still. So, I am glad penn doesn't have a varsity team that I couldn't play on. That is the best thing.

Most Memorable Moment Playing for the Quakers:
The token answer is winning the DVCHC last year. but I think beating Rider, Monmouth and Montclair last year was the most memorable so far.
