The Color Guard
A New Tradition!
The
Color Guard is a relatively new tradition for the band. Every season our
membership has increased since our inception in 2006.
The guard typically meets twice a week to work on routines for the
upcoming show and we also meet once a week for field rehearsal with the
band. Altogether, it is typically no more than a five hour commitment
during the school week. The days of the guard rehearsals will be
determined as a group in the fall.
We perform at all the home football games, as well as some select away
football games. In the future, we may also be asked to perform at other
venues.
No experience is necessary! We welcome everyone who has an interest in
spinning or performing. We perform with flags, rifles, and sabres in
addition to the occasional dance routine, so everyone is sure to find
something they like. In the past, we have even had baton twirlers on the
field with us.
Since we choreograph all of our routines as a group, we end up creating
shows that are not only enjoyable to watch, but to perform as well.
