Adrian was born in Hong Kong, the land of curry fishballs. Growing up with a Chinese American father, a Hongkonger mother, and two Shanghainese grandparents, he was very confused as a child trying to speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Shanghainese. As a result he only seems to speak English natively (aiya!) but he is practicing every chance he can get. He also has two dogs but he hasn't tried to learn doggish. yet.
With his interest in languages, he has an eclectic taste in music, especially those in other languages such as Spanish or Japanese for example. Of course, he maintains a healthy interest in Chinese language music.
It was, in fact, one day while searching up Jay Chou songs that he had his first taste of PennYo a cappella. It. Was. Awesome. Thanks to PennYo, Penn received Adrian's application. Okay, maybe not, but PennYo was definitely a factor. While he had originally planned to offer his support through buying a ticket once a semester because his musical talent consisted solely of humming (albeit very nice humming), he soon learnt from Stephanie that PennYo had a Business/Tech team. The rest is history.
At Penn, Adrian studies Linguistics, which, he would like you to know, is a scientific study of Language, not just studying languages. He actually does like learning languages though; he does this in his free time and will try to practice with you if you speak a language he knows. He also likes making films, which is his primary role in PennYo. Maybe one day, he will make a full-length PennYo movie. And a sequel. No wait, make that a Trilogy!
