We conduct extensive searches for professional directors twice each year.

We ask that all applicants provide the following:

1) A cover letter.

2) A resume and references. Experience teaching or working with college-age actors and designers is a plus.

  1. 3)Proposals for THREE plays you are interested in directing. There is a preference for a well-known show.

With each proposal, be sure to include:

-- A summary of the show and a cast breakdown

-- An estimate of the show’s technical requirements

i.e. “a unit set” or “many period costumes”

-- Your ideas as to why your production choices are appropriate for

an educational environment. Focus on the educational value of the

the experience for our student actors and designers

-- A copy of the show’s libretto and/or CD  (not required)

This is especially helpful for shows that are not well known.
