Who Are We?

The Penn Undergraduate Biotech Society, or PUBS for short, is a group of undergraduates interested in biotech, the healthcare industry, biology, and finance. To capture these diverse interests, we have broken ourselves into a number of committees, as seen below. Every semester, we seek to give a number of talks, host a series of various guest lectures, and work with a biotech start-up for consulting. All of our talks, meetings, and consulting services are free, open and pro bono. We believe in spreading knowledge and excitement about the industry above all else, and we hope that our resoures lead to increased awareness about this growing field.

Research Committee

The research committee deals with breakthroughs, science and new technologies in the biotech industry. The research committee is also largely responsible for bringing in guest lecturers and creating a monthly research newsletter.

Consulting Committee

The consulting committee performs pro-bono consulting for biotech start-ups, addressing such issues as market viability, competitors, threats, branding and mechanism of action.

Finance Committee

The Finance committee deals with assessing market viability, corporate valuation, growth models and financial success of various biotech companies. They also bring in supporting speaker events for their secondary research.
