Academic Career in US: a Dialogue with Chinese professors at Penn

Dear fellow alumni:

Are you in the market this year looking for an academic job? Do you just come
to US and want to know more details about academic career in America? Or you
are still in the middle of your study but aspire to become a professor in top
American universities? Whatever category you fall in, we bet you will find the
following seminar and dialogue interesting and helpful.

PUPA is going to present a seminar featured with two alumni professors at Penn
-- Prof. Feng Gai from Dept. of Chemistry and Prof. Jianhua Huang from Wharton
School.
In the seminar, they will use their own story and experience to share with us
how to launch a successful academic career. They will also offer advice to
interested fellows from a Chinese perspective. Questions and concerns will be
answered and discussed.

PUPA Movie Show : WEI CHENG

Dear fellow students:

If you are interested in how the life story of Chinese students/scholars in US at the beginning of last century is different from (or the same as) ours, this would be a great opportunity for you to explore.

PUPA is going to present the acclaimed TV series Wei Cheng (Fortress Besieged) in the following three weekends. Adapted from Qian Zhongshu^Rs famous novel, Wei Cheng is arguably the best Chinese TV series portraying Chinese intellectuals. It^Rs a comedy, a tragedy, a love story, a satire, and above all, a masterpiece.

You will find your favorite actors and actresses here and find how vividly they have interpreted the characters in the novel.
