******** Announcement on PUPA Special Interest Groups ******
Dear Peking University Philadelphia Alumni (PUPA) Members:
Based on feedbacks for PUPA to provide assistance for members of common
interests to share information and to help each other in the pursuit of
those interests, PUPA has decided to promote and support a series of
Special
Interest Groups (SIGs) for our members and friends.
We would like to suggest that a distinguishing characteristic of PUPA
sponsored Special Interest Groups be an emphasis on not only information
sharing, but actions that lead to results the systematic exposure to,
diligent preparation for, and disciplined pursuit of opportunities that
advance individual members career, social, and business interests in
tangible ways.
Examples of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that may be useful are:
1. Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics..... )
2. Business (Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Management, Marketing,
Statistics......)
3. Information Technology (Career and business opportunities in software
development, database management, and information services)
4. Investment (Investment opportunities in business, securities, real
estate, et al)
5. Job hunting
6. Book Club
7. Mutual assistance for child care and education
Some of the activities a Special Interest Group may engage in include:
1. invite established members to provide job information and career
assistance;
2. encourage collaboration among members;
3. conduct education programs.
If you are interested in any of the Special Interest Groups or wish to
suggest other interest groups, please contact Hu Zonghai, PUPA箂 Vice
President for Member Services at zonghai@seas.upenn.edu. Please
indicate if
you are willing to take the leadership role of a specific SIG.
Thank you very much.
