Welcome To Special Species Symposium 2010
The 2010 Special Species Symposium will be held at the University of Pennsylvania April 09 - April 11, 2010
Please feel free to browse the Lectures and Wetlabs planned for the 2010 symposium.
NOTES FOR ATTENDEES:
- Symposium Banquent is "Dressy Casual" (Basically anything but Jeans and T-shirts)
- There will be a Regstration kick off BBQ starting Friday night at 5:30pm: With good weather the bbq will be outside in the Old Vet Courtyard and you can find the registration table near the main entrance of Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital of University of Pennsylvania (entrance off of Spruce St. at 39th St.)- If it is raining then the bbq will be moved inside and the registration table can be found in the Student Lounge of Rosenthal (entrance off of 38th Street- look for signs to direct you). The bbq will be followed by a Pub Crawl!
- The registration table for the rest of the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) will be set up in the Hill Building (entrance on 38th St.)
- Following the banquet on Saturday night, there will be an Alpha Psi Veterinary Fraternity party that you and all of your friends are welcome to come to! There will be more details in your registration packet!
- IF you are signed up for the Adveunture Aquarium Tour- the cost will be $16 per person. Unfortunately, the aquarium cannot allow free admission for our group. You can either give a check to us when you check in at the registration table, or plan on having the cash with you.
THINGS YOU MUST BRING WITH YOU FOR SPECIFIC WET LABS
- Stethoscopes and penlights for the Small Mammal Physical Exam Lab and Reptile Handling Lab
- Dissection kits, scrubs, and footwear you don't mind getting dirty for the Sea Turtle Necropsy, Wildlife Necropsy, Rodent Necropsy, and Turtle Medicine Lab
- Surgical instruments (if you have them), scrubs, and dissection kits for the Ferret Adrenal Surgery Lab
Please note, because space is limited, symposium Lecture registration is reserved for veterinary students, technicians, pre-veterinary students and veterinarians. The Wetlab registration is open to veterinary students only.
