Dr. Cindy P. Driscoll is the first Fish & Wildlife Veterinarian for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Her responsibilities cover the health and disease issues for all natural resources in the state and her Fish & Wildlife Health Program is the first of its type on the East Coast. Additionally, she is a Clinical Instructor / Wildlife Diseases - at the University of Maryland, College Park. Each year she is also a participating faculty member at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute/ AquaVet course. She provides marine mammal/ sea turtle/ wildlife lectures and necropsy labs for the Special Species Symposium & Exotic Species Symposiums at UP and VMRCVM. Dr. Driscoll formerly worked as the first marine mammal veterinarian for the US Department of Commerce, Office of Protected Resources, Silver Spring, MD and continues to provide emergency veterinary services for the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Laurel, MD. |

The lecture will cover necropsy techniques of wild birds and avian diseases. This lecture will precede the wild bird necropsy lab and explain necropsy and sampling techniques. |
