WINTER
PERFORMING ARTS
WORKSHOP

For the first time in 1997, Stimulus Children's Theater sponsored a day of workshops for middle school students (grades 6th through 8th) interested in learning about performing arts. The workshops were held at the Castle on Saturday, March 1st. Each workshop ran for approximately 40 minutes and included theater, performance games and highly interactive learning experiences.

It was a wonderful success! 30+ middle school kids from Shaw and Turner schools had a wonderful time learning about costumes, sets, acting, character development, body movement, improvisation, script writing and getting a chance to meet some really cool members of Penn Theater.

The most recent workshop took place April 6, 2002, and was a huge success. 40+ children from Shaw Middle School were taught things ranging from swing dancing to improvisational comedy to technical work. The Winter Performing Workshop is now a tradition and we hope to continue it for many years in the future.

This spring our PAW will be April 3rd 2004. We are currently planning and finding groups to attend the workshop.
