About the show

Wendel the Sheep Herder is a children's musical written by two Penn seniors (class of '97). It is the story of a boy named Wendel who has recently graduated from Penn with hopes of following his lifelong dream of becoming a shepherd. Amazingly, he has a difficult time convincing his parents that this is a good idea who believe that a more practical profession would suit him better. Thanks to the advice of his spunky younger sister, Wendel leaves home in search of his sheep. The show follows his adventures with inconsiderate business people, a special friend named Kim, two cute sheep and an evil banker as he runs away to follow his dream.

The show is lively and fun and full of energetic songs performed by a nine-piece pit orchestra. The show is fit for children of all ages, and all kids will get a chance to meet the cast after the show. Oh yeah, one last thing -- Audience participation is required (the only prerequisite is being able to 'baa'.)

Enjoy!
