General Body Meetings are held every other Monday 8pm-8:45pm in Huntsman Hall F70.
Please go to "Events" for specific dates.

WHY WE NEED YOU

We invite all Penn students to join us in our fight for children’s rights all over the world.  A basic schedule of events and initiatives is already planned, but we need the passion/input/perspective/skills of new members to realize our mission to motivate advocacy throughout Penn’s campus and to effect tangible support.

If you’re interested in joining Penn for UNICEF, please contact us at pennforunicef[at]gmail[dot]com.

MEMBERSHIP

Active membership status is afforded to those individuals who have met the following criteria at the end of each semester:
Attended at least 5 General Body Meetings
Corresponded regularly with one Committee Chair
Helped organized and/or attended at least 2 official Penn for UNICEF events/initiatives

COMMITTEES

Advocacy

One of the greatest problems lies in the general lack of knowledge concerning children’s rights and issues.  Combine that with apathy and what do you get?  Well, something you’d be addressing as a member of the Advocacy Committee.

Community Service

Some of you are more interested in getting your hands dirty (metaphorically, of course) and interacting with our organization’s protagonists: children.  There are a number of opportunities in West Philly and (eventually) different parts of the world.

Fundraising

UNICEF is foremost a fund.  Its amazing projects around the world are made possible by the donations of more fortunate world citizens.  Every little bit counts.  UNICEF proudly allocates one of the lowest proportions of donations to administrative costs—plus, it is one of the most transparent UN-ECOSOC agencies so you can be sure all your hard work and money are going to the right places.

Publicity

Don’t have too much time on your hands this semester?  That’s okay!  If advertising and spreading the word about our events and initiatives strike your fancy, this committee is just for you.
