The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Program is designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, or STEM. The goal is to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees. Our PCI program provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.
Our chapter has partnered with the George Washington Carver High School and adopted their NSBE Jr. Chapter.
If you are interested in or want more information on PCI, contact our PCI Chair Moses Adenaike at email@example.com.
Excellence is our standard, not our goal. Academic Excellence is a huge part of NSBE, and here at Penn we focus heavily on study skills, strategies, and how the NSBE community can foster a culture of excellence. This year our theme for academic excellence is “My Brother’s Keeper” which emphasizes that all NSBE members are responsible for each other and should motivate one another to achieve excellence.
TORCH stands for Technical Outreach and Community Help. In addition to more traditional types of community service, TORCH connects NSBE to the Philadelphia community through service events centered on enriching technical expertise and developing STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) education.
